'Embracing Complexity' - the title of our 2025 Annual Report - has its origin in a recurring theme across its pages. It is a recurrent issue in a range of articles embracing: emerging data needs, AI risks and opportunities, relationships with industry, open knowledge architecture for better interoperability, the search for an efficient and effective way to diagnose dementias in the NHS, international collaboration.

A montage of pages from the DPUK Annual Report 2025

The Annual Report shows a record number of data use applications to the Data Portal, further growth in the Trials Delivery Network (it is the largest in the UK) with the number of participants in the Great Minds cohort increasing to almost 13,461.

With contributions from our Portal, Trials Delivery and Experimental Medicine Incubator teams as well as from Professor Ira Haraldsen, Professor Martin Hoffman-Apitius and Professor David Llewellyn, the report reflects on the key roles Dementias Platform UK is playing in the research landscape in the UK and internationally.
