Seminar: Generating synthetic data using AI for neuroimaging DPUK has teamed up with the Deep Dementia Phenotyping (DEMON) Network to present a series of online webinars about applications and benefits of AI in dementia research. The first in the series was held on Thursday 29th May.

This first webinar is a unique opportunity for early career researchers to deepen their understanding of emerging methods, discuss applications in dementia research, and connect with a growing community of scientists at the forefront of innovation.

The webinars are focused on researchers who are relatively new to working with AI and data and ECRs. the series is looking at what is possible today and in the near future with AI and how it can be used safely and securely.

The first event is hosted by Lewis Hotchkiss from our Swansea University team

  • Lewis will talk about techniques for generating and evaluating synthetic data;
  • Professor John Gallacher (university of Oxford) will speak about bias & generalisability issues in health data research;
  •  Professor Simon Thompson will explain how you can enable federation of data environments with synthetic data;
  • Dr. Tim Rittman will provide insight into clinical applications of synthetic data/generative AI.
