Prof James Rowe

Associate Director, DPUK

James is Professor of Cognitive Neurology in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Cambridge, and Director of the Cambridge Centre for Frontotemporal Dementia and Related Disorders. His work aims to protect brain function in those at risk of dementia, and to restore brain function in those with symptoms.

James is an Associate Director of Dementias Platform UK and leads the Experimental Medicine Incubator (EMI) and the Synaptic Health theme within the EMI.

He co-leads DPUK work package 26a: Synaptic loss and its functional consequences in early Alzheimer's disease, using pre-synaptic markers and magnetoencephalography; and DPUK work package 26b: Synaptic loss and its functional consequences in early Alzheimer's disease, using a new post-synaptic TARP γ8 AMPAR ligand.
