Prof Hugh Markus

Project Lead, Vascular Health

Hugh is Professor of Neurology at the University of Cambridge, where he uses molecular, genetic and neuroimaging techniques such as MRI to investigate the cause and treatment of cerebrovascular disease. He is particularly interested in cerebral small vessel disease, which is a major cause of stroke and vascular cognitive impairment.

Hugh leads DPUK Work Package 25b within the Experimental Medicine Incubator's Vascular Health theme: Identifying potential drug targets using Mendelian randomization.
