University of Edinburgh
Tim is a clinical research fellow and neurology trainee at the Centre for Medical Informatics at the University of Edinburgh.
He is currently working on a DPUK project focussed on assessing the value of medical records in dementia research.
"I’m particularly interested in dementia risk prediction and using routinely collected healthcare datasets – anonymised GP records for example – to identify people who might want to take part in research studies.
Through DPUK, I’ve had lots of opportunities to publish my research and present at national and international conferences. Thanks to the experience I’ve gained as a DPUK Research Fellow, I won an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship. Through this I will build on my research in DPUK to create dementia risk prediction models using data from UK Biobank"
