Many HealthWise Wales participants and their families have been affected by dementia and have told their cohort leaders that dementia research is important and should be a research priority. By working with Great Minds, HealthWise Wales are able to deliver dementia research opportunities to their participants.

Working with Great Minds provides an exciting opportunity to facilitate research that our participants are passionate about, whilst extending the use of our unique cohort to address this debilitating condition.

- Dr Pauline Ashfield-Watt, Research Manager, Healthwise Wales

HealthWise Wales participants complete research questionnaires and have their healthcare data associated with their records. This is ideal for dementia research because the information collected from lifestyle questionnaires and other health data can be linked to the cognitive questionnaires from the Great Minds project.
