Help with cognitive test data in dementia studies
Whether you're familiar with cognitive test data or coming to it for the first time, you'll find help here to guide you to the cohorts and tests that you need when planning your study.
If you know which cognitive abilities you want to study and want to find the cohorts you need...
Different cohorts use different tests over different time periods. This DPUK directory helps you identify the cohorts with the data you need quickly and efficiently. It is particularly beneficial for those researchers wishing to run cross-cohort studies and therefore identify comparable cognitive data.
If you need to know more about the cognitive tests that are used...
There are thousands of ways of assessing cognition. A DPUK expert in cognitive testing offers guidance on where to start if you need to get to grips with what is available for researchers looking to do research with cognitive test data.

Doing cognition research with one of the UK's most detailed cohort studies
UK Biobank is a very large study of the health of over half a million middle-aged and older adults in the UK. Following recommendations by the DPUK team, UK Biobank have now implemented more sensitive tests of memory, reasoning, executive function and vocabulary in its ongoing data collection. With records for 20,000 participants available in June 2019, and 90,000 by the end of the study, this cohort is one of the most useful for health and ageing researchers.
