Using cohort data in dementia research - guides and help
The DPUK Data Portal makes dementia and cohort data available for researchers around the world. Find a variety of guides and help for using cohort data in dementia research on this page.
The Data Portal is for researchers using cohort data in dementia research
The Data Portal is a free-to-use remote platform where you can analyse multiple cohorts' data together. It's a new way of working for those used to analysing single cohorts in small studies. On this page, we offer guides and support for using cohort data in dementia research. Join a datathon to get hands-on experience, then collaborate and benefit from peer support online. Develop your study proposal with the support of experts who know our dementia cohort data inside out. Any specific questions? Get in touch for bespoke advice from our Data Portal research support team if you need it.

Support for my study - using cohort data in dementia research

Meet Mark
Mark Newbury is part of DPUK's data administration team, based at the Data Science Unit in Swansea University. When you work on your data application for any of the DPUK cohorts, it's Mark who's first on hand to advise on datasets and variable choices for your project.
Peer support – using cohort data in dementia research
The Data Portal user group is an open group of scientists who are either conducting research in the Data Portal or who are exploring the idea. In an informal online space, researchers connect with others doing similar work, share scripts and gain useful tips for working in the Data Portal. DPUK's technical experts are also part of this group. No question or query is too small! Here we are learning from each other's experience.
Got a question about using the DPUK Data Portal?
We ask researchers from a range of disciplines for their questions about the Data Portal. Do you have a question relating to your proposal in the Data Portal?
