Dr Rob Buckle is Chief Science Officer at the Medical Research Council (MRC), which is the main Government agency responsible for UK biomedical research.

Rob Buckle.pngAs CSO, Rob oversees MRC’s scientific operations and funding procedures, as delivered through the MRC Research Boards, as well as major science initiatives and implementation programmes. He also has responsibility for MRC’s family of Institutes, Units, and Centres, and provides leadership for MRC in developing networks and inter-organisational relationships, both nationally and internationally. Prior to joining MRC Rob worked for ten years as a bench scientist in both academia and industry, working in the area of gene regulation and cell cycle control.
