A future for dementia drug trials
The Clinical Studies Register (CSR) is a ground-breaking new initiative, designed to combat one of the biggest challenges in dementia research: how to recruit highly characterised participants. Ivan will provide an update on the CSR and delegates attending this session will come away knowing how the CSR will transform recruitment to clinical trials for dementia treatment.
DPUK: a participant's perspective
As a participant in one of the multicentre studies that is already benefitting from DPUK technology, Helen will bring her perspective to the DPUK project. What does DPUK mean for those living with dementia, and those who may be research participants? Delegates attending this session will come away with renewed insight into the vital role that people like Helen play in the fight to find effective treatment for dementia.
How has DPUK helped me?
We hear from an Early Career Researcher, the PrincipaI Investigator of a large DPUK-funded study, a researcher who has already benefitted from access to data, and the Principal Investigator of one of our cohorts. We will hear their latest findings and understand how each of these scientists makes use of DPUK in their day-to-day work and activities. Delegates attending this session will gain insights into the breadth of opportunities available to research scientists at all stages of their careers which are provided through DPUK.
Big data and dementia: joining up the dots
Join DPUK Director, John Gallacher, in conversation with Andrew Morris as they discuss the most pressing issues in dementia research today. What new areas of insight are emerging for this varied field? How do we need to work in novel ways to tackle the challenges we face? How can we employ big data methods to support our efforts? Be prepared to leave the hall invigorated and inspired after this comprehensive afternoon session to round up our day.
