We seek industry partners to help shape a sustainable future for more targeted clinical trials for Alzheimer’s disease.

Dementias Platform UK is a public-private partnership. Partnership has been at the heart of what we do right from our inception in 2014 and continues to be so. We recognise that the connections between academic researchers and partners from industry is the key way to accelerate research into effective prevention and treatments for dementia.

our industry partners

Drive innovation in clinical trials

Our industry partners sit at the heart of our infrastructure development, showing the need, and driving our technology development to meet that need. DPUK informatics infrastructure is now being set up to allow the rich population data collected by cohort studies to be used by clinical researchers and triallists. Our industry partners are able to explore:

  • innovative trial designs and experimental medicine studies using well characterised participants
  • new, de-risked, avenues of research for those companies looking to move into new areas.

Access state-of-the-art technology and expertise

Our industry partners leverage the power of our networks. Academics may be at the forefront of new ideas in the field but the public needs to see effective drugs, and the pharmaceutical industry needs to deliver. We are able to broker relationships. By connecting our industry partners with academic colleagues, we enable access to new ideas and forge fruitful scientific partnerships.

Shape the platform

Whether as part of our executive team or as part of joint-funded studies, our partners help shape the development of sustainable infrastructure that will enable a new generation of highly targeted clinical trials for Alzheimer's disease.

the company partner forum

We are close to what is a world-leading exercise in dementias research, at the strategic forefront of solving the big clinical challenges in Alzheimer’s disease.

DPUK’s industry partners meet monthly as a group – the company partner forum. Whether they have made a contribution in cash or in kind to DPUK, our industry partners are able to influence and be involved at all levels in the work of the platform.

Many of our industry partners take on strategic roles, as part of the DPUK executive team, or on the project’s steering group and oversight board. On a practical level, our industry partner colleagues are central to many of our scientific work packages, and are able to direct the platform’s data and infrastructure resources to meet their research interests. At its heart, the company partner forum is an active network of industry scientists at the forefront of new developments in our field.

flexible partnership models

Full partner – Associate partner – Informal partnership opportunities

We seek to make opportunities for new partners – whether big pharma or Contract Research Organisations – to contribute in the way that is appropriate for the size, expertise and clinical research interests of your company. Our flexible partnership models allow our partners and associate partners to contribute in a variety of ways.

We continue to build new links with industry partners. If your company has something to offer in our collaborative work against dementia, we would be very interested to hear from you.
