Professor Nobre's contribution to DPUK activities includes involvement in the New Therapeutics in Alzheimer's Disease (NTAD) study, which is working to detect biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease before symptoms show.
Professor Nobre is also Chair of the Oxford Neuroscience Strategy Committee, Head of the Department of Experimental Psychology at Oxford University, and Director of the Oxford Centre for Human Brain Activity.
The US-based National Academy of Sciences was established in 1863, and members are elected by their peers for outstanding contributions to research. Professor Nobre is the only international member elected this year from psychology and neuroscience.
