Applications are invited for a Senior Scientist – Research Facilitator to support the delivery of the MRC Dementias Platform UK (DPUK) project, a £53m public-private partnership which will deliver a world-leading resource for person-focused dementia research. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital and is funded to 30 June 2019.
You will manage the scientific review of DPUK work packages (currently 16 a year), draft award letters to scientists, write scientific articles, and look into further grants for which the DPUK project could apply. You will liaise with faculty members, other academic and University departments at Oxford and its partner institutions, and funding bodies in the co-ordination of prospective and funded grants.
You will have experience of grant writing in a biomedical or social science discipline, along with experience of reviewing research activity. With a first degree (2:1 or above) you will have a postgraduate qualification or other relevant experience of scientific writing. You should have excellent problem solving skills, including the demonstrable ability to make and defend your own judgements.
